Welcome to Delta Phi Epsilon
A letter from the president:
Hello!
My name is Hope Taylor, and I am the President of the Delta Phi Epsilon – Delta Delta Chapter at Indiana University. I am currently majoring in Information Systems in the Kelley School of Business, and I hope to pursue a career in marketing and data analytics in the future.
It would be crazy for me to say that joining Delta Phi Epsilon has changed my life—but it’s true. Our motto, Esse Quam Videri (“To be, rather than to seem to be”), has stuck with me since the first day I heard it. The members of this chapter, past, present, and future, all embody the true meaning of being yourself and encourage those around them to do the same.
I was born and raised right here in Bloomington, but my time at IU didn’t begin until the spring semester of my freshman year, when I transferred. Signing up for recruitment was a huge step for me, but it was absolutely a step in the right direction and one of the best decisions I have ever made. Since my initiation, I have served as the Social Events Coordinator, Sisterhood Coordinator, and Public Relations Coordinator for my chapter. Delta Phi Epsilon has provided me with countless opportunities to grow as a leader, a friend, and an individual.
I was unsure if I was ready to run for President, but I reminded myself that being ready is not a feeling—it’s a decision. I wanted to take the next step in leading positive change within this chapter. With the incredible support that surrounds this organization, I know we will accomplish so much together this year. I am beyond excited for the year ahead and cannot wait to create memories and friendships that will last a lifetime.
