Welcome to Delta Phi Epsilon

A letter from the president:

Hello!

My name is Abigail Biegel and I am the President of Delta Phi Epsilon - Delta Delta Chapter at Indiana University. I am majoring in Social Work with a hopeful minor in Korean! I am hoping to become a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist or teaching English somewhere in the future!

Delta Phi Epsilon is so special to me for so many reasons. I have always had an open mind and open heart, so ever since I had met the members of DPhiE, I knew this was the place for me. Everyone in this chapter understands me in a way that makes me feel at home… “A home away from home” is the cheesy line some would say. But, it’s true! I feel like I am at home whenever I am around the girls here. I never feel nervous or anxious to be myself and I always know they will be there for me!

Fall semester of freshman year was really hard for me. As an out-of-state student at this big school, I felt like I did not know anyone. After some encouragement, I signed up for recruitment and the rest is history! Since my initiation, I have been the Formal Recruitment Coordinator, Sunshine Coordinator, and Mental Health & Wellness Chair for my chapter. I have become comfortable with myself and broken out of my shell much more since then.

I have to be honest, running for President was never something I intended on doing at first. It seemed like such a big, scary role that I would not be equipped for. However, after almost 2 years around all of the girls in DPhiE, I know that this was the right choice and that I have so many deephs as a support system. I know what I want to achieve and I know that I have the resources to do so. I hope all of the girls here are as excited as I am for this upcoming year and I cannot wait to make so many memories with everyone in this new position!
