A Letter from the VPR

Dear Potential New Members,

Delta Phi Epsilon stole my heart as soon as I joined through informal recruitment. Coming to college can be such a scary experience, but having a community to love and support you can make that experience a million times better. Our values of justice, sisterhood, and love make us so unique, and allow for us to inspire each other to become better everyday.

It is so crazy to think that 2 years ago I was in your shoes, so nervous and unsure about my future and Greek life. Never in a million years did I think I could grow to be one of the people who is now running recruitment for DPhiE, but that is the beauty of joining Greek life. By joining DPhiE our members have accomplished things that they never thought they were capable of, have met their best friends who will continue to push and inspire them, as well as becoming more bold and confident. Our motto, “Esse Quam Videri”, which means “To be rather than to seem to be”, is the embodiment of what joining Delta Phi Epsilon has been for me. I am always able to show my true self and do things I would have never imagined.

Throughout your journey of recruitment, always stay true to yourself, trust your instincts, enjoy the experience, and embrace both laughter and tears! We have all navigated those mixed emotions, but it’s incredibly rewarding when you are able to run home on Bid Day. I wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors and hope you find a sisterhood that makes you feel at home.

Yours in true sisterhood,

Hannah Smith

Vice President of Recruitment
